Splint for 5–7 days; visible bruising 10–14 days; refinement continues for months.
Recommended post-operative care
- First-night overnight nursing for nausea, drip-pad changes and cold therapy
- Hourly nursing days 1–3
- Accompanied transportation to splint removal
- Home assistance for meals that require no chewing effort
What we watch for
- Mouth breathing and dryness are expected while packing or splints are in place
- No glasses resting on the bridge until cleared
- Strict avoidance of nose blowing
