Breast Reconstruction
Restoration of breast shape following mastectomy, staged or immediate.
Typical recovery
Drains commonly for 1–2 weeks; activity restrictions for 4–6 weeks.
Recommended post-operative care
- 24-hour nursing for the first 48–72 hours
- Drain care, output logging and site monitoring
- Flap or expander precautions per surgeon orders
- Wellness visits through the drain period
- Home assistance and transportation for the full restricted period
What we watch for
- Close monitoring for temperature, drainage change and swelling
- Emotional support is a meaningful part of this recovery
